About Bellheir
Bellheir Border Collies is a new kennel located just outside Chatham Ontario. Although I’m newer to breeding, I have been active in the dog world and have been working with border collies for several years now.
My childhood dream of a border collie was placated when my parents got me my shih tzu mix, Roxy instead. Roxy gave me a taste of the dog world I wanted so badly, and we spent our days doing backyard agility, tricks and therapy dog visits to nursing homes. While working at a kennel I decided it was finally time to get my first border collie and to begin building my life around the breed I love.
Seeing the border collie's drive, intelligence, and connection with their handler convinced me that no dog can compare.
My priority when breeding is to produce sound dogs who are welcome members of the family; dogs that have the ability to do agility or hike all day but are happy to cuddle on the couch at night
My dogs are proven sound in both structure and temperament in the show ring, as well as demonstrating versatility in other events such as herding and barn hunt. I plan to continue to develop their skills in other events such as rally obedience and agility.
My dogs are raised with Puppy Culture protocols that provide them with the best start in life. Puppy Culture gives them a head start in socialization, allowing them to be better able to handle stress and change as either a family pet or in a competitive sport environment.
